The Sign of a Great Home
Andrew was born and bred in Harrogate – and he's been selling property in Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripon for his entire career.
"A lot of agents tend to work for the buyers, because they want the sale," he says. "But when I'm in a house, I'm there because I enjoy it. “I love looking around property, I like helping people to sell it and I get genuinely excited when we get a viewing. For me, the most important person is my client."
Robyn settled in Harrogate 14 years ago, after spending a decade here as an estate agent in the 80s and 90s.
"I knew Andrew back then too," she says. "He was always known to me as the estate agent who wasn't brash and in your face, very successful without shouting about it – there wasn't any other agent I wanted to work for. People don't really like the hard sell. It's about helping houses sell themselves – that's how you get the best price - and I take pride in happy clients. I like people to be able to ask us any question and not feel stupid.”
Sarah knows Harrogate inside out. Aside from a few years of university and travelling, it has always been her home.
"I love this job. I really enjoy meeting new people and looking at houses, so it's lovely to be able to take the journey with them, and to be able to put them at ease," she says. "I actually get a real emotional attachment. So I feel devastated if a sale ever falls through, but it's also really exciting when they sell. Which is most of the time, fortunately – we are quite good at that part!”
